The results of the 40th BCS written test may be released in the last week of this month (January). This information has been received from the Public Service Commission (PSC).
PSC chairman. Sohrab Hossain said that about eight and a half thousand answer sheets of the 40th BCS examination have to be re-evaluated. It takes a lot of time. So it is a little late to publish the results of the written test. Preparations are underway to release the results by the end of January. If the commission decides, the results will be released within this time.
It is learned that some of the answer sheets of the written test have gone to the third examiner and the results are being delayed. The re-evaluation of the answer script may be completed by the middle of next month. Work is also underway on Friday and Saturday, the official closing day for the release of results.
According to PSC sources, the work of evaluating the answer scripts of the 40th BCS written examination has already been completed. However, in many answer sheets, the answer sheet has been given to the third examiner as there is a gap between the numbers given by the two examiners. That is why the results are being delayed.
In this regard, the chairman of PSC said, as per the provisions, the answer script of the written test is being examined by the third examiner. However, whether a third examiner is needed will be considered in the future.
“We will conduct an audit to see if there is a big gap in the evaluation of the answer sheets of the first and second examiners,” he said. If there is no major gap in the assessment of the two examiners, the answer sheet assessment activities may be canceled in the third step. He said such steps are being considered to reduce the BCS exam time.
